RAIDERS ROMP; 9-0 SEASON WITHIN REACH
      There's no stopping the Cameron County Red Raiders, who are heavy favorites to run the table with a perfect 9-0 record and then host the Allegheny Mountain High School Football League championship game on Oct. 31, most likely against Curwensville.

Falcons eye volleyball title
      Even with a new coach and the departure of some talented seniors, Coudersport has not skipped a beat as the dominant team in the Northern Tier High School Volleyball League. The Falcons carried a sparkling 9-0 league record into Thursday night's match at Cameron County.

FALCONS ON COURSE FOR 'SECOND SEASON'
      Coudersport continued to fine-tune its attack in preparation for the "second season" of high school football. Based on strength of schedule, the Falcons (4-2) are shoo-ins to qualify for the PIAA District 9 playoffs.

STORM WINS PLAYOFF OPENER
      Undefeated Cameron County is off to Reynoldsville on Saturday to meet the Ridgway Rockets in the second round of the Central Pa. Youth Football League (ages 11-12) playoffs. Game time is 4 pm. The Storm ran its record to 7-0 by burying a turnoverprone Treasure Lake, 40-7, in last weekend's playoff opener.

     An outstanding season for the boys' golf team at Cameron County High School came to a conclusion last week at the District 9 Tournament at Clarion Oaks Country Club. Coach Tom Glosek's team included (from left) co-captains Josh Strahl and Jon Lundberg, Vinnie Brown, Grant Vassallo, Ryan Reed, Dominick Manginell and Ian Abriatis, along with (not shown) Cole Labrozzi, Mitch Reams and Max Stuart. Vassallo had a solid round of 83, while Lundberg and Brown also competed at the D9 event.

Cross country meet Tuesday at CARP
      Coudersport hosts the Northern Tier League crosscountry meet Tuesday on the course at CARP. Among runners to watch are Coudersport's sisters, Emily and Allison Giannotti, Northern Potter's Steven Kibbe and Oswayo Valley's Orion Bernard.

Falcon girls place second
      Hannah Fink fired a round of 109 as Coudersport placed second in the PIAA District 9 girls' golf championships at Bradford. Keri Hamilton (119) and Tori Brown also competed for the Falcons, who finished behind Punxsutawney in the team scoring.

Raider junior high now 4-2
      A solid ground attack and tough defense led Cameron County to a 28-0 junior high football victory at Otto-Eldred Thursday night. The Red Raiders (4-2) parlayed an 8-0 halftime lead into a 22-0 advantage with a pair of touchdown drives after the break.

RAIDER JUNIOR HIGH TEAM WINS
      Cameron County parlayed an 8-0 halftime lead into a 22-3 junior high football win over Port Allegany last week, improving the Red Raiders' record to 3-2. Cody Beer's 10-yard touchdown run and Aaron Burnside's two-point conversion put the Raiders up 8-0 in the second quarter.

Coudy jr. high team 5-0
      Coudersport took another step toward a perfect junior high football record last week by defeating Elk County Catholic, 14-0. Tim McCusker's 70-yard touchdown pass to Mitch Freeman gave the Falcons a 6-0 lead late in the first quarter.
