I am forever changed
      I am finally able to insulate myself from our nation's politics. For close to 20 years, I have let national politics shape the way I think and interrupt the way I feel. And despite the horrific taste these years of caring about national politics have left in my mouth, I am better for having loved and lost in this instance.

Through An 'Old Timer's' Eyes
      In 14 hundred and 92, Columbus sailed the ocean blue. It would be interesting to see old Chris's face today if he saw what has become of this "new world." We will celebrate Columbus Day on Monday. When I was in grade school or grammar school, or elementary school as they call it today, we were taught that Christopher Columbus discovered America.
