     Boys' golf coach Tom Glosek announced at last week's Emporium Rotary meeting that he has decided to step down after a 17-year run, including a recent fouryear run that included a record of 46- 15, including repeat Penn-York League championships. Many of this year's Raiders accompanied Coach Glosek to the meeting to be honored for a 14-1 season, including a 12-0 league record. HELP WITH HOME HEATING BILLS
      Thousands of residents of Potter and Cameron counties are eligible for assistance with their winter heating bills through the Pa. Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). County Assistance Offi ces will begin processing LIHEAP applications on Nov. 3. Eligibility is based on income.

      Bryant Duell A son was born Oct. 15, 2008, in Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, to Megan Button and Anthony John Duell of Coudersport. Named Bryant Anthony, the little boy weighed seven pounds, nine ounces. He joins a brother, Modiki, age two.

GLASSWARE PAINTING CLASSES SET
      Potter County Education Council will offer painted glassware classes on Oct. 25, Nov. 8 and Dec. 13, from 10 am to 2 pm. The class is for beginners as well as advanced painters, with a focus on floral paintings on wineglasses, vases, ceramic trivets or other glassware. Registration deadline is Oct. 17. Cost is $40 for one class or $85 for the series.
