FALCONS: PLAYOFFS NEXT
      Coudersport bounced back from a lackluster first half to scored 17 unanswered points on its way to a 17-3 triumph at Port Allegany on a chilly Saturday afternoon. The Falcons (6-2) await their pairing in the first round of the PIAA District 9 high school football playoffs after Friday night's season finale against a winless Sheffield team at Paul Simcoe Field.

      Six touchdowns in the first quarter settled Saturday's high school football game in Sheffi eld in a matter of minutes, but the real drama didn't unfold until halftime. After a tirade by head coach John Bonavita, the Wolverines did not come out for the second half.

COUDY CLAIMS NTL V-BALL CROWN
      Coudersport has repeated as the Northern Tier Volleyball League champion and hopes to continue success in the PIAA District 9 playoffs. Despite heavy losses to graduation, the Falcons proved to be unbeatable in league play. They had their hands full with Northern Potter on Tuesday night, losing the first game 25-22 before rallying to claim the next three.

      Cameron County's hopes of winning the Central Pennsylvania Youth Football League championship were dashed in the playoffs by the Ridgway Rockets on the neutral site of Reynoldsville, 18-15.

     Austin has enjoyed considerable success in varsity volleyball this season and the future for the program appears to be bright. The Panther junior varsity team came home with the second-place trophy after a competitive eight-team junior varsity volleyball tournament at Kane. The Panthers progressed to the championship game against Elk County Catholic before they faded after winning the opener and fell, 2-1.
