BEAR HUNTING 'SECOND WIND'
      We began trickling into bear camp Friday night. By Sunday, there were 14 of us. Camp was cozy warm as temperatures outside dipped to nearly 10 degrees. Snow fell throughout the weekend. At Sunday night's meeting, maps were scattered about as we decided who would go where and who would be watchers and drivers.

VIEWS ARE MIXED ON PLAN TO EXPAND STATE'S ATV TRAILS
      Controversy continues over the state's plan to expand all-terrain vehicle riding opportunities on state forest lands, using a network of township roads as connectors. About 40 townships in 15 counties, including Potter, Cameron and McKean, have approved ATV riding on certain municipal roads, totaling approximately 700 miles.

FORESTRY ROADS OPEN TO HUNTERS
      Managers of the Elk and Susquehannock state forests in Potter, Cameron, McKean and Elk counties have announced plans to open more than 25 forestry roads for access by hunters for deer season, Dec. 1-13. Weather and use patterns may require the Forestry Bureau to close some of the roads sooner than anticipated.
