Harold D. Swank Harold D. Swank, 88, of Austin, died Tuesday (Jan. 1, 2008) at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport. Born on Feb. 25, 1919 in First Fork, he was the son of Percy and Ella (Caldwell) Swank. On Sept. 20, 1947, he married Anna Kuppelweiser, who survives. He was employed for 39 years with Tri-County Rural Electric. Mr. Swank was a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin, the Knights of Columbus Council 1355 of Coudersport, the Emporium V.F.W. Post, and the American Legion Potter Post 192 of Coudersport. Surviving in addition to his wife are his son, Stanley Swank of Austin; two brothers, Meril (Ruanna) Swank of Galeton and Percy (Melitta) Swank of Louisville, KY; a sister, Annabelle Cooper of Emporium; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Cecil Swank and a sister, Glendora Foster. Friends may call from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm Friday (Jan. 4, 2008) at the Fickinger Funeral Home in Coudersport and at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin on Saturday from 10 am until 11 am at which time a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, with the Reverend Joseph Czarkowski, as celebrant. Burial will be in Gilmore Cemetery, Cameron County. Military rites will be accorded at the cemetery by members of the Potter County Honor Guard.
