Roads open for 'sleds'

More than 100 miles of forestry roads and trails on state-owned land in and around Cameron County have been opened for snowmobilers.

Roads open for snowmobile use only include Cowley Hill (Gate 19), Bauer Hollow Road (Gates 1 and 2 Alpine Acres to Emporium Water company property), Brooks Tower Road (Gate 125), Fox Mountain Road (Gate 23), East Cowley Run Road, Pepper Hill Road (Gate 121) and North Fork Road (Gate 61). Plowable roads open for joint usage by snowmobiles and licensed motor vehicles include Brooks Run Road, Crooked Run Road, Fee Hollow (Gate 18), Homewood Road, Hunts Run Road (only state forest lands from the county line to Ridge Run Road), Montour Run Road from Rock Run heading north, Naval Hollow Road, Portage Road, Ridge Road, Steam Mill Road, Straight Creek Road, Stillhouse Road, Whitehead Road and Wildwood Tower Road.
