Team basketball has been the trademark of the Coudersport Falcons (11-2) during their incredible run of recent years, but on Wednesday night the spotlight turned to an individual performer.

Kristy Kamper soared past the 1,000-point mark in the first quarter of the Falcons' 61-30 romp over visiting Oswayo Valley (9-5), the team's 10th straight win.

After a brief stint on the bench to clear the butterflies, the slender senior went on a quick scoring spree that prompted a brief ceremony as she reached the scoring plateau.

"It's been a pleasure coaching Kristy," Coudersport coach Brian Green said. "She is a great kid on and off the court and she can do so many things for us and play all five positions on the floor."

Kamper finished with 20 points. Jessica Wilson, who should hit the 1,000-point landmark in the next week or two, added 10 points. Each of those girls had seven rebounds and played tough defense against the Green Wave's potent frontcourt. Kelly McVay and Kayla Bohn combined for 11 assists.

In other Wednesday games, Northern Potter beat visiting Cameron County (6-8), 34-21. Austin (8-5) dropped a tough one at Otto-Eldred, 36-29.

Austin was coming off a hard-fought 42-40 win against Northern Potter on Monday night. Rayna Valenti scored 13 points with four steals. Whitney Crosby added 12 points and six rebounds. Casey Boucher dished off six assists.

Coudersport rolled over Cameron County Monday, 67- 18. Bohn was a defensive force, with nine steals, and handed off nine assists. Kamper (26 points) and Karli Duffee combined for seven threepointers. For the Raiders, Kristin Sestina swatted away 11 shots and had eight rebounds.
