Coudersport stays unbeaten
Falcons top second-place Raiders, 56-37

Coudersport has had to tiptoe through a minefield to remain undefeated as the boys' high school basketball season passes its midpoint.

Most recent challenge to the Falcons' perfect record was mounted by the Cameron County Red Raiders, who fought the hosts to a stalemate in the first half but faltered after the intermission.

Coudersport won, 56-37, to improve to 13-0. Cameron County (7-3) is certainly looking forward to a rematch on Jan. 28 in Emporium.

Leading the Falcons were seniors Blair Heimel (20 points, 12 rebounds), John Hau (13 points) and Derek Burdick (10 points). Jordan Crane tallied 17 points for Cameron County.

Cameron County was coming off an impressive 60- 22 win at Otto-Eldred, led by Crane (16 points, 10 rebounds) and Daniel Sullivan (9 points).

Coudersport scored a 69-41 win at Smethport. Hau (16), Heimel (16), Burdick (11) and Colton Corey (9) led the offense.

N. Tier League Standings: Coudersport 3-0, Northern Potter 3-0, Cameron County 2- 1, Port Allegany 2-1, Otto- Eldred 2-1, Smethport 0-3, Oswayo Valley 0-3, Austin 0-3 (Thursday's games not included).

Monday: Port Allegany at Coudersport, Cameron County at Austin, Northern Potter at Otto-Eldred, Smethport at Oswayo Valley.

Wednesday: Northern Potter at Coudersport, Cameron County at Oswayo Valley, Austin at Smethport, Otto- Eldred at Port Allegany,

Friday: Coudersport at Otto- Eldred, Oswayo Valley at Austin, Port Allegany at Northern Potter, Smethport at Cameron County.
