Area state, local police log A Potter County man has been charged with raping two teenage females at his farm over the past three years. According to state police from the Denton Hill barracks, Steven Brenneman, 43, of Ulysses is facing charges of rape, deviate involuntary sexual intercourse and indecent assault. Troopers allege that the incidents happened around a farm when the girls were 14 and 15 years old, respectively. Officers said the episodes occurred on separate occasions with no eyewitnesses. Brenneman was arrested in Cumberland County and remanded to the Potter County Jail on $150,000 bail. Uni-Mart burglarized State police report that they have two suspects in connection to a burglary at the Uni- Mart on West Fourth Street in Emporium early Saturday morning. Police at the Emporium barracks report that the pair broke a window to gain entry and then stole lottery tickets and tobacco items. Collision on bridge One driver received minor injuries in a head-on collision on a one-lane bridge Sunday morning on the West Branch of Fishing Creek, north of the village of Roulette. State police said Elizabeth Kertzel was traveling north when her vehicle struck a car driven by Linda Klesa of Ulysses. Kertzel was taken to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital for observation. The roadway was snow-covered and slippery at the time. Popular dumpster A third person has been charged with theft of services for allegedly putting garbage in the dumpster at the Friendly Inn lot in the village of Roulette. Police filed the charge against 19-year-old Dorothy Nichols of Railroad Avenue, Roulette. Blinded by the light A Coudersport man received minor injuries Friday afternoon in a rear-end collision on Route 872, just south of the Dutch Hill Road in Homer Township, Potter County. State police at Denton Hill said Walter Keck was blinded by the sun as his car ran into the back of a Chevrolet Blazer driven by his neighbor, Emily Shaffer. Keck was taken to Charles Cole Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Shaffer and her 15-year-old passenger, Justin Barentine, were not injured. Charged with assault State police have charged 20-year-old Travis Marsh of North Hollow Road, Coudersport, with aggravated assault and related counts for an alleged assault of a threeyear old girl. Troopers claim that Marsh choked the child at a house on the West Branch of Dingman Run Road. |
