Coudersport water rates rising Potter County Fine Arts Council is bringing a bit of New Orleans to the area on Friday, Feb. 8, with a Mardi Gras party to benefit Habitat For Humanity at the Coudersport Golf Club. Beginning at 7 pm, there will be live music, and a New Orleans style dinner. Music will be provided by Brother Dietze and the Dixie Boys, Steve Quelet and Anne Acker. Tickets are $20 and include dinner and the show. They're available at the Potter County Education Council, Second Street Roost or by calling 698-2799. Coudersport water rates rising Water rates are rising by three percent across the board in Coudersport Borough. These higher rates take effect immediately, affecting the current billing period, which includes January and February. The average residential customer will see an increase of $2.01 on each bill. Rates were last increased in 2006. Coudersport Borough Authority members said the rate hike is necessary to cover rising expenses and will deliver about $17,500 in additional operating revenue. Customers who use 2,000 gallons or less will pay $39.91 per billing period (two months), an increase of $1.16. Rates increase as consumption rises. |
