This year's Coudersport High School boys' basketball team is knocking on the door of an exclusive club.
Barring an upset, coach Chris Fink's Falcons could become just the fourth team in school history to polish off a perfect regular season.
Wednesday's 79-48 win over visiting Oswayo Valley put the Falcons at 21-0 with just three games remaining on the schedule. Coudersport is also on its way to a fifth straight Northern Tier League title.
The spotlight was on John Hau Wednesday for two reasons. Initially, fans worried that Hau would lose much of his effectiveness as the result of a torn knee ligament suffered in a game against Smethport last month.
However, the rugged senior donned a knee brace and blistered the nets for four threepointers and 18 total points, allowing him to pass the 1,000-point milestone in career scoring.

Hau drilled a trey just after the intermission to become the third member of the Class of 2008 to surpass 1,000 points. Kristy Kamper and Jessica Wilson are the others.
His frontcourt mate, Blair Heimel, scored a game-high 19 points with 12 rebounds. Justen Kinder netted 10 points and Derek Burdick had six assists.
On Monday, Heimel scored 14 of his 16 points in the first half while also hauling down 14 rebounds to help Coudersport claim a 48-36 win at Cameron County in a key North Tier League game Monday night.
Burdick seized control of the offense after the intermission, scoring all 17 of his points, including four three-pointers, to keep the hosts at arm's length.
Meanwhile, Colton Corey led the Coudersport defense limiting Cameron County's 1,000-point scorer Jordan Crane to zero first-half points and seven overall. Daniel Sullivan hit a pair of treys and led the Raiders with 11 points.
Cameron County (14-4) bounced back with a 56-35 win over visiting Northern Potter Wednesday, breaking open a close game after the halftime break. Crane scored 17 points and had 10 rebounds. Charlie Holjencin added 14 points and Sullivan tallied 10.
