Modular offices a gift to fire department
Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department received a gift from Time Warner Cable this week.
Portable, modular office trailers previously used by Adelphia and Time Warner and located near the former L. H. Lincoln and Son plant, were donated to CVFD. They've been positioned on CVFD property near the firehall and Movie Gallery, along Port Allegany Road in west Coudersport.
A spokesman said the trailers will be used for training and other department activities, helping to solve a space crunch at the firehall.
D&J Paving and Seal Coating of Roulette towed the trailers with a heavy truck fitted with a custom made hitch made by Baker's Welding, also of Roulette. CVFD emergency vehicles provided escort and traffic control.
Carpenter Jay Cavanaugh from Signet Construction, Coudersport, was contracted to prepare the units for the move and help to reassemble them at the new site.
