Miller Raffaele Post 6221 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars held its annual Dues Payers' Dinner last Friday. Among the people honored that evening were Joe Vassallo (left) who was surprised by a gift from the President of South Korea, via an old war veteran comrade, Joe Naglich. Naglich, right, served in Korea at the same time Vassallo did and even ran into him there in 1951. Since those days, Naglish has developed business relationships in South Korea and was awarded two medals by the country's president. He told the story during the ceremony and presented Joe with one of the medals.
