Fire destroys home in Millport

A late-night fire Saturday destroyed an unoccupied home in the village of Millport.

Owners were identified as Darnell and Jackie Mascho, who lived in an adjacent home that volunteer firefighters were able to save.

The home that burned is located at the intersection of Eleven Mile Road and Pa. Rt. 44. Fire was discovered shortly before midnight. Volunteers from Shinglehouse, Coudersport, Alma, Bolivar, Portville and Westons Mills responded to the call. More than 50 firefighters were on the scene until after 6 am Sunday. There were no reported injuries.
