New bridge for walkers at CARP

A popular footbridge across the Allegheny River on the north end of Coudersport Area Recreation Park has been replaced

Members of the Coudersport Borough Crew, under the direction of Public Works Director Lou Karija, performed the work.

First, they fabricated the bridge by cutting and fitting steel, welding, crafting wood supports and painting. After the steel section was put in place by crane, crew members went to work applying the wooden deck, supports and railings.

Among those who performed the bulk of the work were June Cornish, Jeff Schroeder, Rob Gross and Jeremy Hazel. Wayne Hathaway and Borough Police Chief Lee Gross also volunteered their time to help.
