Did you smell it?

If you noticed a really strong, foul odor in Emporium Borough on Thursday, you weren't alone.

In an attempt to locate

the source, Endeavor News

contacted the Mid-Cameron waste water treatment facility.

On that day, workers at the facility were doing a routine pump of their overflow tanks, a procedure that they perform about once a week. Most often, though, the wind carries the odor "down the valley" workers said. On Thursday, however, the wind wasn't on the borough's side and the smell hovered around town for most of the day.

Concerned citizens should be advised that there is nothing wrong and that it's just a standard procedure. Plant employees said that anytime they perform this procedure the smell should not last more than a day.
