Sheana Mosch: where is she now?
It seems like only yesterday that a slender teenaged girl with pigtails was bouncing a basketball around downtown Coudersport, whiling away the hours while her parents visited relatives.
That little girl was Sheana Mosch, who would later terrorize opponents as a star of the DuBois Central Christian girls' basketball team. Today, Sheana, the daughter of Dr. George C. Mosch III and Suzanne Saulter Mosch, Clearfield, is a professional basketball player.
She's a member of the Arras team in the French Women's Basketball Association. Mosch, a five-foot-10 guard, is leading the league with a scoring average of 18.6 points per game.
After an outstanding career at Duke University, Mosch was a candidate for the Women's National Basketball Assn. (WNBA) draft. However, failing to latch on with a WNBA squad, she ended up joining the Turkish Basketball League, where she was named to the international all-star team as a member of the Turkish Team, Botas.
Mosch is one of the 19 Blue Devil players to pass the 1,000 career point milestone over the 31-year history of women's basketball at Duke.
Her parents are both 1967 graduates of Coudersport Area High School.
