Public is welcome at 'Living Stations of Cross' Youth members of the St. Eulalia Catholic Church in Coudersport are presenting "Living Stations of the Cross" on Sunday nights, March 9 and March 16, at 7:30 in the sanctuary on South Main Street. The Easter-themed presentation is open to the public. St. Eulalia Youth Group members will act out the final hours of Jesus Christ's life as he carried the cross to Calvary. After the hour-long performance, audience members are invited to a reception with refreshments in the Parish Center. The presentation is described as "a prayerful reflection of the suffering of Jesus, made relevant to present-day society." This is achieved by allowing the students to become the players in the presentation, using thought-provoking text, including scripture readings, and dialogue which attempts to draw the meaning of the stations into daily life. The action is set against a backdrop of costuming, scenery, contemporary music, and special lighting effects. Among the Biblical themes depicted are Veronica wiping the face of Jesus, Mary meeting her afflicted son, Simon helping to carry the cross, Jesus carrying the cross and the Crucifixion. This is the third year the St. Eulalia Youth Group, ages 12- 18, has presented Living Stations of the Cross. A free will offering will be collected to support Coudersport Area Ministerium Emergency Fund and the Youth Easter Egg Hunt set March 22. The Emporium VFW, Moose and K of C will sponsor the Annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, March 22 at 1pm at the Cameron County Little League Fields.
