Work is progressing at the site of the new bridge being built on Route 555 in the town of Driftwood. Crews last week had built staging areas on each side of the stream and had begun setting steel I-beams on the south side of the Driftwood Branch of the Sinnemahoning River. Traffic will continue to use the old, single-lane bridge until the new bridge is completed. Bridge is scheduled to take two years to construct, but Clearwater Construction, the general contractor, believes it will be finished in about half that time.
