Rotary meets at high school

The Music Department of Cameron County High School thanked the community for its support of this year's PMEA District Band Festival during last week's Emporium Rotary Club meeting.

Rotarians met at the high school LGI Room for lunch and a program presented by band director Dan Sensenig.

Sensenig pointed out that the January festival was the first one hosted by Cameron County in more than 30 years. Its success was the result of strong support from the community and school adminis- tration. Sensenig expressed special appreciation to Kim Pennington for finding housing for the students from 41 schools.

Attending as guests of Rotary were the Cameron County students who qualified for the District Band Festival: Matt Franceus, Emily Crowell, Shelly Sharrow, Miranda Schalles, Anna McFall, Caitlin Miller, Vicky Lippert, Katrina Reid and Amanda Pries.

Franceus, Crowell, Sharrow and Reid went on to represent the school at the PMEA Northwest Regional Band Festival.
