SIGN LANGUAGE INSTRUCTION

Instruction in sign language is being made available in Coudersport starting next week.

The Basic Sign Language Workshop starts on Monday. It's a six-week series that teaches participants how to use the alphabet, short sign words, and read sign language from other people.

It will also help hone participants' skills for signing in schools, businesses, and for personal use.

The workshop will take place three nights a week through March 27 from 5:30 to 8:30 at the Potter County Education Council office, 227 N. Main St. Cost is $120.

A second workshop series continues where the basic course leaves off, helping participants to sharpen their skills. Anyone who already has a basic knowledge of sign language is welcome.

This workshop will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from April 15 through May 22, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, at the same office. That cost is also $120.
