Nancy L. Strayer

Nancy L. (Mummert) Strayer, 61, of R.R. 3, Hollidaysburg, died Wednesday (March 12, 2008).
Mrs. Strayer was born March 20, 1946, in Hollidaysburg, the daughter of James E. and Marie M. (Seymour) Scully. She married John D. Mummert, Sr. July 22, 1967 in Steelton, PA. He died October 11, 1998. She married Ivan Scott Strayer on September 4, 2007 in Hollidaysburg.
She attended St. Michael's Catholic School and graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1963. She worked with her first husband in family owned businesses including an Amoco service station, then a Texaco station, both in Highshire, PA from 1967 to 1994. In 1993, they moved to Driftwood, Cameron County, PA, where they owned and operated The Hunter's and Angler's Pub until 2000. She enjoyed hunting and fishing in Canada.
She is survived by a son, John D. Mummert, Jr., of Middletown, PA; sister, Patricia (Robert) Wees, of Florida; brother, James E. (Suzanne), of Coral Springs, Florida; three grandchildren, Johnnessa, John III, and Trinity Mummert; two nieces, Martha "Marty" and Elizabeth "Betsy" Wees; step-children, Lynn (Chris) Mehrer, of Rozette, WY; Cary (Wade) Shaw, of Martinsburg, PA; Heather (Sam) Malesky, of Summerhill, PA; Jennifer Sell, of Claysburg, PA; Anna Strayer, of Hollidaysburg, PA; and Ivan Scott Strayer, II, of Martinsburg, PA.
Mrs. Strayer is also survived by her first love and last love, Ivan Scott Strayer of Hollidaysburg. They went together in high school and after 37 years without contact were brought back together again in 2000.
Mrs. Strayer was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Janet and Beverly.
In keeping with her generous and giving spirit, Mrs. Strayer has donated her body to research for Cancer and Lyme Disease.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be scheduled at the convenience of the family.
