Richard E. Victory
OCTOBER 2, 1929 - MARCH 19, 2008

Richard E. "Dick" Victory, 78, of Emporium, died at Elk Regional Health Center, St. Marys, Wednesday (March 19, 2008).

Born Oct. 2, 1929 in Emporium, he was the son of the late Henry and Helen Moore Victory. On Dec. 23, 1959 in Emporium, he married Gertrude "Trudy" Earle Keefer Victory, who survives.

Mr. Victory graduated from Emporium High School in the class of 1948. He retired from GTE Sylvania where he was employed for over 36 years and was a member of their Quarter Century Club. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #368, Emporium, a social member of the Miller-Raffaele Post 6221 VFW, Bucktail Rod & Gun Club and AARP. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and bowler.

Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Donna Barton Hewitt, of Emporium, Barbara Kelly and Don Major, of Port Allegany, Loraine Price, of Pensacola, Fla.; a son, Floyd (Mary Lee) Keefer, of Emporium; 7 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; two sisters, Lureda Menteer, of Kane and Vondalee (Charles) Swanson, of Kersey; a brother, Clyde (Becky) Hottle, of Kane and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Richard; a daughter, Deborah and a brother Armel Victory.

There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium.
