Trout Stocking Continues

Trout stocking continues along streams in Potter and Cameron counties, where trout fishing begins in three weeks. The opener is Saturday, April 12 at 8 am. Volunteers braved the elements in recent weeks, dumping trout in area streams while snow fell. Here, George Afionis helps a young angler get a bucket to the stream.
Thousands of brook, brown and rainbow trout, including some trophy-sized specimens from area hatcheries, are being deposited in area waterways in preparation for the 2008 trout fishing season. The regular season opens on Saturday, April 12.

As always, the Pa. Fish and Boat Commission encourages volunteers to turn out and help with the stocking.
