Eight area high school seniors will play in the ninth annual Alice R. Kozel Foundation District 9 Basketball All-Star games on Saturday, March 29, at Penn State-Du- Bois.
The girls' game starts at 4 pm, followed by the boys' game at 6. A three-point shooting contest will be held at halftime of each game.
Picked for the girls' teams were Rayna Valenti of Austin, Kristin Sestina of Cameron County, and the Coudersport duo of Kristy Kamper and Jessica Wilson. Coudersport's Brian Green and Austin's Dick Logue are assisting with coaching duties.
Among players picked for the boys' teams are the Coudersport trio of John Hau, Blair Heimel and Derek Burdick, as well as Jordan Crane of Cameron County. Coudersport's Chris Fink is one of the coaches.
There will be a small admission fee to benefit the Alice R. Kozel Foundation, a non-profit organization created in 1999 to support youth programs.
