A concert to benefit the Potter County Yellow Ribbon suicide prevention program will be held from 7 pm to 10 pm Saturday (March 29) at the St. Eulalia Parish Center in Coudersport.
Featured performers are Every Tom, Jeff and Larry, a classic rock band led by Larry Herbstritt, with bassist Jeff Kazimer and rhythm guitarist Tom Shaffer. Local favorites Anne Acker and Art Metzger are also on the program.
Saturday's program is a complement to the April 12 Teen Tinnitus festival for the younger generation. Music will have special appeal to a mature audience, but the program is open to all.
Information and education pertaining to suicide prevention will be available. Admission is $7.00 per adult. Children who are accompanied by an adult will be admitted free. Coudersport Rotary Club will be selling refreshments to support community activities.
Headliner Larry Herbstritt was once known as "Ollie," as leader of the Coudersport area rock 'n roll band, Ollie and the Go Gos, in the late 1960s.
He went on to enjoy a successful career as a songwriter and music arranger, with several pop and country hits to his credit. Herbstritt is also a talented singer and guitarist in his own right.
Every Tom, Jeff and Larry plays a broad selection of classic rock, with a heavy emphasis on songs by the Beatles and other bands from the '60s and early '70s.
Dickinson Mental Health Center Crisis Services and the Potter County Yellow Ribbon Suicide Prevention Task Force are sponsoring Saturday's concert. Co-sponsors are: Allegany River Riders, Gleason Motors, E&G Auto Plus, Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Charles Cole Inpatient Behavioral Health, Northwest Savings Bank, J & J Tire and Auto, Howard's Kubota Inc., Schott & Associates, A Way Out Domestic Violence Services, Zito Media, Lagrua Printing and Leader-Enterprise.
