Lauren Haag was the March 18 guest speaker at the Emporium Rotary Club meeting which was held at the First United Methodist Church. Haag spoke to Rotarians about the imminent need to address the homelessness issues in rural communities. 'Many people who live in rural areas don't realize that there are homeless living among them because they don't see them. They don't live on the streets, instead, they live in cars, buses, with friends or family members.' Haag works for the Intermediate Unit 10 addressing housing needs.
