Raiders win season opener against Kane, 8-4 Cameron County enters the 2008 high school baseball season with high hopes. The Red Raiders came from behind to nip Kane, 8-4, in the season opener Thursday at the Emporium diamond. Trailing 2-0 early, the hosts went ahead to stay on David Lyon's long two-run homer in the bottom of the third. Run-scoring doubles by Sean McManigle and Mike Baker made it 5-2 after five. In the sixth, Garrett Hornung cracked a solo homer and Lyon followed with another two-run shot to make it 8-2. Starting pitcher Jordan Crane got the win, working four innings. Hornung pitched the final three frames. Cameron County travels to Coudersport on Monday. |
