Bolin named James Wood head coach
Cameron County High School graduate Mike Bolin has been named head football coach at James Wood High School in Winchester, Va.
Bolin, 29, former offensive line coach, succeeds veteran coach Walter Barr, who retired. He was chosen from among almost 25 applicants and was endorsed by Coach Barr. Bolin also had the support of the James Wood players, many of whom signed a petition requesting his promotion.
After graduating from Cameron County, Bolin was a lineman for two years at Lock Haven University. He was awarded a degree in special education from Edinboro University in 2004.
He arrived at James Wood as a teacher that fall and coached junior high football before joining Barr's varsity staff.
