Raising $$ for brain tumor research

Two former Emporium residents will once again raise money for brain tumor research during Race for Hope next month in Washington DC. Megan Zoschg and Lisa Gillette will participate in the 5K run/walk event on Sunday, May 4.

The duo started Team Brainstormers to honor two family members who have survived malignant brain tumors.

Last year, the national fundraiser garnered more than $1.5 million for the Brain Tumor Society and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure. Of that, the Brainstormers raised $14,500. They hope to hit the $20,000 milestone this year.

Those wishing to support Zoschg and Gillette can register at curebraintumors.org. For more information, call 486-3198.
