Falcons move to 4-0

Pitcher Karli Duffee has helped the Falcons get off to a 4-0 start in high school softball.
Coudersport is off to a 4-0 start in high school softball, coming off Wednesday night's 3-0 win over visiting Kane.

Pitcher Karli Duffee tamed the Wolves with nine strikeouts while walking just one and scattering four hits.

Maureen McCusker doubled and Megan Hau cracked an RBI single for the Falcons, who had just five hits.

Coach Scott Andrews' Falcons were coming off a 12-2 win over visiting Port Allegany Tuesday night. Hau pitched a complete game two-hitter and fanned five. Kelly McVay, Melissa Gerner and McCusker each had three hits while Tigan Chiumento was 2-for-2.

Last Saturday, Duffee pitched a six-hitter in Coudersport's tight 3-2 win over Otto-Eldred. Kayla Bohn had two of the Falcons' four hits.
