Late rally gets Bradford by Lady Raiders

A strong Bradford team held off a late rally to defeat visiting Cameron County, 8- 4, in varsity softball competition on Wednesday.

Pitcher Shelly Fuhrman kept the Red Raider bats at bay with no-hit pitching until the sixth inning. Shelby Summers tripled, while Alexis Narby and Katelyn Basgall each singled for Cameron County (0-3). Tasha Smith pitched a complete game.

On Monday, Oswayo Valley came from behind to nip the Raiders, 10-6, on the Emporium diamond. Narby doubled and Summers singled for the hosts, who took advantage of 11 walks to go on top 5-4 entering the seventh inning.

OV tied the game to send it into extra innings, where the Green Wave plated five more and held on. Danika Grom pitched a complete game for CCHS.

The Raiders host undefeated Coudersport on Wednesday, followed by a trip to Northern Potter and a home game the following Saturday with Otto-Eldred.
