1960s parade film to be shown

Cameron County Chamber of Commerce plans to show a home movie from the county's last big birthday party during the next meeting of the Sesquicentennial Committee.

The video captures a parade held in 1960 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the county's founding. It will air on Monday, May 5, at the Cameron County Courthouse, starting at 7 pm. Following the showing of the movie will be a Sesquicentennial Committee meeting.

Chamber officials say everyone is welcome to watch the video and stick around to discuss plans for the county's 150th birthday bash in 2010.
