While work is progressing for replacement of the Specialist Mike Franklin Bridge (what's left is below) on Coudersport's East Second St. by contractor A. L. Blades, a detour involving Mill, Oak and Maple streets has been the site of several close calls as drivers fail to heed stop signs and warnings. On Saturday, two vehicles did collide at the intersection of Borie and Oak streets. Borough Police said 48-year-old Debra Snyder of Homer Twp. came down Dutch Hill on Borie and failed to notice a stop sign. She drove into the path of a sedan being driven by Gary Doyle, 45, of Mill Street. Doyle was not injured. Snyder's vehicle overturned onto the passenger side. She had to be extricated by Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department and was taken to Cole Memorial Hospital by Coudersport Ambulance for treatment of injuries.
