Catherine Graham
APRIL 28, 1955 - APRIL 7, 2008

Catherine (Cathi) Whitaker Graham died peacefully at her home on the evening of April 7, 2008.

The world that night lost a wonderful and caring soul, whose strength through her illness should serve as an example to all. Her life was a testimony to the strength, compassion and empathy she gave to all.

She was born April 28, 1955, at Camp Zama, Japan. She earned a medical assistant certification in 1983 and graduated as a registered nurse from Montgomery College, Maryland, in 1989.

She practiced her nurturing and caring personality through the personal care of Francisco (PaPa) Cespedes and through her service to those in need at Guy and Mary Felt Manor in Emporium. In addition, she was employed by the Community Nurses of Cameron County and Pinecrest Manor in St. Marys.

Her heart was dedicated to all creatures in need with continuing contributions to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and St. Francis of Assisi.

Cathi was preceded in death by her father and mother, John and Catherine (Kalmbacher) Whitaker, of Baltimore.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Graham; her brother, James Hunt and his wife Yolanda Cespedes; her pets, Beeper, Prettybird, Sara; and her close family, who assisted her to the end: Karen Graham, Janet Cashman and Cindy Burfield.

Cathi also wanted to make sure that all of her nieces and nephews know how much she loved them.

Memorial services will be held Saturday at Barnett Funeral Home in Emporium at 3 pm. Donations in her name should be made to Best Friends Animal Shelter and St. Francis of Assisi.
