YEAR OF PROGRESS FOR ARBORETUM

Another year of progress is planned at the Coudersport Arboretum, a public park located along South West Street, next to the former C&PA Railroad depot that is now the borough office building.

This year's work will include landscaping around the site of the retired C&PA caboose; installation of flagpoles near the Military Honor Roll, which will be dedicated on Memorial Day; planting of shrubs along the arboretum's West Street border, and other projects.

A $10,000 state grant and a $2,000 donation by the Sheetz convenience store chain are being used to pay for this year's work. Anyone wishing to support the arboretum or learn more about it should call 274-8165.
