National Day of Prayer services set in Coudy

Coudersport Area Ministerium is holding National Day of Prayer services on Thursday with observances at the courthouse square at noon and again at 7 pm.

The observance was created by act of Congress in 1952. Ministerium members have launched a local initiative as means of communicating the need for personal repentance and prayer, and as an effort to mobilize the Christian community to intercede for America's leaders and its families.

"We represent a Judeo- Christian expression of the national observance, based on our understanding that this country was birthed in prayer and in reverence for the God of the Bible," said a Ministerium spokesman.
