Cameron County High School students compete at St. Bonas

Ten enrichment and gifted students from Cameron County High School researched a country in the United Nations and used that knoweldge to compete during a Model United Nations Conference recently at St. Bonaventure University.

The program is a simulation of the United Nations General Assembly.

Among students were Matt Melott, Zach Tilburg, Helen Blackford, Joey Botera, Grant Vassallo, Cassie Pearsall, Brian Carlson, Chelsey Morrison, Seth McFall and Matt Bailey.

The teenagers researched three topics on Italy as well as world concerns.

Enrichment teacher Jennifer Olivett said plans are in the works for next year's competition, which is open to students in eighth through 12 grades.
