Game commissioner being sought

A new member of the Pa. Game Commission will be appointed soon as representative for District 3, which includes Potter, Cameron and six area counties.

Centre County resident Russell Schleiden's eight-year term ends in November.

Deadline to apply is May 14. Commission members are not paid. They do receive travel reimbursement.

Candidates should be knowledgeable about wildlife conservation and the needs and concerns of the hunting, trapping and conservation communities.

Governor Ed Rendell will recommend a candidate for Senate confirmation.
