Polce report e-mail scam

State police report that an e-mail circulating in Pennsylvania that warns of a "speeding ticket frenzy" is a hoax.

Versions of the e-mail claim that massive speed enforcement details will pay the costs of troopers' overtime and target certain highways and intersections.

"The State Police routinely engage in speed enforcement efforts as part of our highway safety programs," said a spokesman. "The department never issues traffic citations as a way of raising funds."
