Boys' Red Raiders track team still in undefeated

Cameron County track coach Shawn Bidwell has his Red Raider boys performing at their peak.

Even with a few starters out of action due to another obligation, Bidwell's boys scored a 79-69 win at Otto-Eldred Tuesday to improve to 4-0.

Young Joe Holjencin came through with wins in the 800 (2:36.1) and 1600 (5:26.5) while helping to win the 1600 relay. Randy Schatz was also on that relay team and picked up wins in the javelin (159-4) and 3200 relay.

Charlie Holjencin burned up the track in 57.2 to take the 400 and ran a leg of the 1600 relay.

Andy Lippert was a winner in the 200 (24.6) and long jump (15-8). Matt Burke and Tom Jack added wins in the shot put and discus, respectively.

Sprinter Rachel Lippert picked up two wins (100, 14.6; 200, 33.3), as did Shalynn Schatz (shot put, 29-8; javelin, 74'), but Cameron County was on the short end of an 86-46 score in the girls' meet. Alexis Ramsey took first in the 400 (1:27).
