Coudersport girls edge Hubbers in track Sprinter Jordan Bright and distance runner Emily Giannotti were among the standouts in Coudersport's tight 78- 70 girls' track and field win at Smethport Tuesday. Bright tore off a 13.9 in the 100-meter dash and a 29.3 in the 200. She was also on the victorious 400 relay team and won the long jump. Giannotti notched two more wins in the 1600 (5:18.6) and 3200 (11:31), continuing her domination of the long-distance runs. She was also on the winning 3200 relay team (11:04). Kristy Kamper ran a leg of the 3200 relay and took the high jump (5') and triple jump. Jessica Wilson topped the field in the javelin (109-1) and discus (78-6). On the boys' side, junior Nate Minor showed versatility with wins in the 200 (24.2), javelin (143-2.5) and 400 relay, where he was joined by Justen Kinder, Tim Thomas and Wes Bernard. Thomas flew down the track in 11.8 to take the 100. Kinder was first in the long jump (16- 6). Jared White won the discus (99-10). |
