Kamper, Heimel Big 30 All-Stars

Two members of Coudersport High School's twin champions in the Northern Tier High School Basketball Leagues were named to the Big 30 All-Star Team last week.

Seniors Kristy Kamper and Blair Heimel were first-team selections for the ceremonial team, selected from the 30 high schools in the region.

Other selections were Ashley Abrams of Salamanca, Samantha Kopp of Franklinville, Joelle Connelly of Pioneer and Rachel Bantleman for the girls; and, for the boys, Sam Moore and Jake Houseknecht of Olean, Ryan LaBrozzi of Bradford, James Braunscheidel of Wellsville.

Connelly and Moore were selected as players of the year.

Among second-team allstar selections were Jordan Crane of Cameron County, John Hau and Jessica Wilson of Coudersport.

Picked for the third team were Derek Burdick of Coudersport and Rayna Valenti of Austin.

Jeff Anastasia of Olean and Max Payne of Pioneer were selected as coaches of the year for boys' and girls' teams, respectively. Coudersport's Chris Fink and Brian Green were among finalists for those honors.
