EMPORIUM MAN JAILED An Emporium teenager is being held in the Potter County Jail, awaiting action in Cameron County Court on a number of charges. Matthew Cash Grimone, 19, was jailed on Friday after allegedly violating the terms of bail spelled out by District Judge Alvin Brown. He had appeared before Brown on theft charges, accused of the March 18 theft of a video game from Jacob Moate, also of Emporium. According to court records, Grimone refused to return the property despite repeated requests from the victim. Most recently, Grimone was hit with additional criminal charges stemming from a Lumber Township camp burglary last summer. He is accused of breaking into Deloy Hollow Camp, owned by Renee M. Henry, with a co-conspirator and stealing property valued at approximately $5,400. State police from Emporium claim that Grimone and Gregory G. Burdick stole a grill, stereo equipment, generator, propane tank, turkeys calls and other property. Police say some of the property was sold, while many of the items have been recovered. Charges include theft, receiving stolen property, criminal conspiracy, burglary, criminal trespass and criminal mischief. The bail violation stems from violation of Judge Brown's "house arrest" terms, which allowed Grimone to leave his residence only under certain circumstances. He was reportedly seen at two locations in Emporium, in violation of the terms, and was taken into custody and transported to the Potter County Jail on Friday. Earlier this year, Grimone was sentenced to two years' probation after pleading guilty to four charges resulting from a deer-poaching near Sizerville last August. |
