Alle-Catts play Sunday

Kyle Gledhill made history as winning pitcher in Austin's first Alle-Catt baseball game in more than a quarter-century. The Austin team hosts Crosby at 2 pm on Sunday.
Emporium improved to 2-0 in Alle-Catt Amateur Baseball League competition with another lopsided win last week, while Austin (1-0) saw its historic home debut rained out.

Both teams are in action over the holiday weekend.

Crosby comes to Austin's Gary Williams Memorial Field on Sunday for a 2 pm game, marking the first time the community has hosted an Alle-Catt game in more than a quarter-century.

Emporium travels to Shinglehouse Sunday for a 2 pm showdown.

Last week, the Emporium squad took care of Olean AOH, 11-1. Ralph McKimm

pitched a complete

game, striking out nine, while scattering six hits and five walks.

Garrett Hornung, doing double-duty this month as both a high school and Alle-Catt player, had a triple, two doubles and a single to lead a potent offensive attack for the Cats.

Another high school player, Jordan Crane, stroked a double and

two singles. Rick Uber added three hits, while Paul Baker smacked a pair of singles and Drew Tompkins doubled.
