Two members of the Coudersport Volunteer Ambulance Association were awarded the organization's coveted Founders Award during a recent banquet at American Legion Post 192 in Ladona.

Dustin Crosby and Kathi Jackson were the winners of an award that was instituted in 1984 to recognize exemplary service to the organization.

Crosby joined CVAA in 2005. He is serving on the board of directors and as ambulance driver and attendant on two of five rotating crews that cover calls for a 12-hour shift. Crosby also routinely assists with long-distance transfers from Charles Cole Memorial Hospital to other facilities.

Jackson joined the association in 2003. She has served on the board of directors as both vice president and secretary.

She has actively chaired three subcommittees of the organization and served as the HIPAA liaison. Additionally, she has been actively involved in fundraising, including the popular chicken and biscuit dinners.

CVAA is a non-profit volunteer organization that serves the greater Coudersport area offering ambulance service at the basic life support level at any time of the night or day.

Founded in 1974 and incorporated in 1978, CVAA funds its services through donations, annual subscriptions, and insurance billing.
