Motorcyclist injured

A Potter County motorcyclist was seriously injured Friday morning on Rt. 49, between Gold and Ulysses.

State police from Denton Hill said 23-year-old Phillip Thompson of Ulysses swerved to avoid a vehicle that was turning into the Potter County Solid Waste Authority transfer station when his motorcycle went out of control, left the road, went airborne, bounced four times and flipped over.

Thompson, who was wearing a helmet, was flown from the scene by medical helicopter to Arnot-Ogden Hospital in Elmira, N.Y.

Teen faces drug charge

A 14-year-old Cameron County boy was cited on four drug possession charges after his mother turned him in to local police.

Troopers said the boy's mother found narcotic prescription medication and paraphernalia used to inhale the medication. They refused to release the identity of the youth. The case was referred to juvenile court authorities.

Facing DUI charge

A downstate Pennsylvania woman faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a one-vehicle crash in northern Potter County.

State police from Denton Hill identified the driver as 37-year-old Shauna Rightnour of Douglassville.

Police said she was southbound on Loucks Mills Road in Ulysses Township Monday morning when her Pontiac sedan crossed the road and struck an embankment. She escaped injury.

Teen charged

An Austin teenager is being charged with traffic violations for entering or crossing roadways after a collision Tuesday morning on the Bark Shanty Road in Keating Township.

State police report that 18- year-old Joshua Majot pulled his Pontiac sedan out of a driveway into the path of a Jeep being driven by Dayle Youngleish of Coudersport.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and neither was injured.

Motorcycle mishap

Minor injuries were reported for a Trumansburg, N.Y., motorcyclist following a mishap Saturday afternoon on Route 6, just east of Telescope Road in Ulysses Township. Troopers said 54-year-old Fred Kotler lost control of his Harley Davidson as he tried to turn around on a loose gravel shoulder.

Kotler, who was wearing safety equipment, was treated for minor injuries at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital and released that same day.

Lose your boat?

State police from the Denton Hill barracks report that a boat was found last Saturday afternoon in the Allegheny River, near the village of Roulette.

The owner may claim the boat at the barracks by providing a physical description of it.

Car hits tree

Moderate injuries were reported for an Austin woman following a crash just before 3 am Monday on Route 120 in Emporium.

State police from the Emporium barracks said 44-yearold Denise Osti was headed east when her Chevrolet sedan crossed to the other side and struck a tree.

Troopers said charges are pending completion of their investigation.

Teen driver wrecks

An Emporium teen and his passenger each received minor injuries in a one-car crash taking place early Monday morning on Waldy Run Road.

Police say 18-year-old Nathan Pott became distracted and allowed his westbound Chevrolet sedan to go off the road, strike an embankment, and roll over. Both Pott and a passenger, 21-year-old Gerald Lewis, left the scene but were located a short time later.
