Coudersport falls 5-4 in baseball playoffs
      Coudersport's hopes of a PIAA District 9 high school baseball championship were dashed in an extra-inning defeat Friday night. Keystone plated the game-winner on a solo homer into the top of the eighth and held off a Falcon uprising to come away with a 5-4 win.

Giannotti sixth in state track finals
HIGH SCHOOL TRACK
      Coudersport sophomore Emily Giannotti came home with a sixth-place medal from the 3200-meter run at last weekend's PIAA State Track and Field Championships at Shippensburg University. Her time was 11:07.21, less than three seconds behind the fifth place finisher.

Big Alle-Catt weekend
      This is a busy weekend in the Alle-Catt Amateur Baseball League. On Saturday, undefeated Austin (2-0) hosts Kane at 2 pm. Then, on Sunday, Austin travels to Emporium (1-1) for a 2 pm game. Emporium is coming off a tough 8-6 defeat at Shinglehouse last Sunday.

Girls' summer basketball camp
      A summer basketball camp for girls will be held at Cameron County High School June 9 through June 13. It's being organized by Dave Sullivan, head varsity basketball coach at Cameron County. The camp is open to girls entering grade five through members of the class of 2009.

      Foursome of Jim Thomas, Harry Jones, Rick Kahnell and Tom Yothers combined to win low gross honors during the second annual St. Mark Church Golf Outing at the Emporium Country Club. Low net went to Linda Slyder, Judy Erskine, Mary Jo Kahnell and Mike Keefer.
