Music in Potter this weekend, 'Red Molly'
Recording artist "Red Molly" is coming to Potter County for two performances and a workshop this weekend. The folk musicians offer sweet harmonies with tasteful instrumental accompaniment.
Red Molly and a bluegrass band, Cornpone Sally, will perform Friday night (June 13) at Cherry Springs State Park, starting at 8:30.
A star-watching program will follow at 10.
On Saturday (today), Red Molly will present a songwriters' workshop from 3 pm to 4 pm at Ski Denton, then return that evening as featured performer for the Songwriters Roundtable.
Doors open at 6 pm with dinner available. An art display will feature the work of teacher Alyson Leach's students at Galeton Area School.
Today's program starts at 7 with music by two local teenagers, Sabrina Hershey and Katie Lamb.
Cornpone Sally will then take the stage. Red Molly will follow. The band will play several selections from its new album, Love and Other Tragedies.
Local musicians Steve Quelet and Eppie Bailey are back to host the Songwriters Roundtable, made possible through a grant from the Pa.
Partners in the Arts and the Potter County Fine Arts Council. The program will conclude at around 10 pm.
